United Nations forces , including some 700 soldiers from the 2nd Battalion of the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry, fought a fierce battle in the Kapyong Valley from 22-25 April 1951 during the Korean War.
Their brave defence held back thousands of enemy soldiers who were advancing south towards Seoul.
We honour the memories of the 10 Canadians who gave their lives, along with the 23 who were wounded while defending peace and freedom. We remember the bravery and sacrifice of these Canadians.
